Improving the Spatial Correlation Characteristics of Antenna Arrays using Linear Operators and Wide-band Modelling

no code implementations26 Mar 2024 Marc Miranda, Sebastian Semper, Michael Döbereiner, Reiner Thomä

By means of synthetically simulated arrays, we show that when operating with a bandwidth of 1 GHz, the use of a derived linear operator applied to the array output results in the spatial correlation characteristics approaching those of the array operating at a bandwidth of 12 GHz.

A Framework for Developing and Evaluating Algorithms for Estimating Multipath Propagation Parameters from Channel Sounder Measurements

no code implementations12 Oct 2023 Akbar Sayeed, Damla Guven, Michael Doebereiner, Sebastian Semper, Camillo Gentile, Anuraag Bodi, Zihang Cheng

A framework is proposed for developing and evaluating algorithms for extracting multipath propagation components (MPCs) from measurements collected by channel sounders at millimeter-wave frequencies.

Estimating Multi-Modal Dense Multipath Components using Auto-Encoders

no code implementations5 Dec 2022 Steffen Schieler, Michael Döbereiner, Sebastian Semper, Markus Landmann

This much more challenging multi-modal setting bears two important questions: How many modes are there, and how can we estimate those?

Grid-free Harmonic Retrieval and Model Order Selection using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

1 code implementation9 Nov 2022 Steffen Schieler, Sebastian Semper, Reza Faramarzahangari, Michael Döbereiner, Christian Schneider, R. Thomä

We also compare the performance to other harmonic retrieval methods and integrate it into an existing maximum likelihood estimator for efficient initialization of a gradient-based iteration.

Frequency Sub-Sampling of Ultrasound Non-Destructive Measurements: Acquisition, Reconstruction and Performance

no code implementations8 Dec 2020 Jan Kirchhof, Sebastian Semper, Christoph W. Wagner, Eduardo Pérez, Florian Römer, Giovanni Del Galdo

In the literature, the remedies to this are twofold: First, the amount of measurement data can be reduced using state of the art sub-Nyquist sampling approaches to measure Fourier coefficients instead of time domain samples.

Monitoring the spread of COVID-19 by estimating reproduction numbers over time

1 code implementation18 Apr 2020 Thomas Hotz, Matthias Glock, Stefan Heyder, Sebastian Semper, Anne Böhle, Alexander Krämer

To control the current outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019, constant monitoring of the epidemic is required since, as of today, no vaccines or antiviral drugs against it are known.
